The Green Scene at Sikich

Environmental-friendly business practices are essential in today’s market and as Sikich continues to grow and evolve so does our commitment to sustainability. Sikich is continually working on building green practices and “going green” at Sikich encompasses everything from recycling (Sikich recycles paper, cans, bottles–even batteries, CDs and DVDs) to energy consumption to telecommuting and paperless offices.

Each of us uses approximately one 100-foot-tall Douglas fir tree in paper and wood products per year (EPA, 2008). Our paperless offices utilize technology to help preserve resources and protect the environment. While eliminating paper costs is a benefit of the change, the real benefit is in greater sustainability, increased productivity, and improved service to our clients.

Sikich encourages and supports a number of virtual offices. The environmental benefits of a virtual office are many, including: minimizing utilities consumption, saving oil, and reducing air pollution by not commuting. Our use of conference calling and web conferencing tools also reduce road and air travel for meetings (huge carbon footprint reduction).
