Accounting Services QuickBooks Tips you can use:

Tip 1:

  • Does your business provide more than one type of service? For example, a construction company may provide both New Construction and Remodel services. Use the Customer or Job Type fields to segment your QuickBooks reporting for management purposes. Create your Customer of Job Type by going to Lists, Customer & Vendor Profile Lists menu. Assign the type on the Additional Info tab for the Customer of Job in the Customer Center.

Tip 2:

  • To avoid prior period changes, when setting up new users in QuickBooks always choose the setting that prevents them from making additions, changes, or deletions to transactions recorded on or before the closing date. QuickBooks allows the Administrator to set a closing date that effectively locks the file so that no one can make changes to transactions dated on or before a specified date. 

Tip 3:

  • Use the Company Snapshot in QuickBooks to get real-time company information about your company.  View a graph of Income and Expense Trends for the year. Choose which accounts and reminders you want to see. Double-click any reminder, account, customer, or vendor to view details and performs tasks.
